Oksana Sakal—a Ukraine-born New Yorker—is the visionary behind Sakal Palm Beach. She hand paints each and every bag,  incorporating scenes of nature, architecture, and art. One of her biggest inspirations is Chinoiserie, a form of decorative art that emulates Chinese motifs. “The world of Chinoiserie to me is a sanctuary of beauty and magic,” explains Oksana. “I immerse myself into this magic and let my hand and the brush lead the way.”

In 2016, approximately, Oksana’s passion for both art and fashion became one when she began painting a denim jacket. “I found it very intriguing to paint on different surfaces like denim, leather, suede and other materials,” she adds. “After trying many ways and techniques, I came up with my very own painting technique where art is not only beautiful, but also wearable and durable.”

Some of Oksana’s creations take over 20 hours to paint, given the attention to detail that goes into her artful masterpieces. While her signature handbags come in white, there are other color options to choose from as well, including yellow, green, and blue.

Today, Oksana lives near Palm Beach with her husband, Steve, and their daughter, Mila.
